What is an Arizona Notary Public?

A Notary Public is an official appointed by the State of Arizona government, typically by the secretary of state. This position

serves the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official acts related to the signing of important documents. These official acts are called notarization, or notarial acts. These 'acts' may be acknowledgements, oaths and affirmations. Notaries are publicly commissioned as official witnesses in order to prevent fraud. As a fraud prevention measure, make sure you ask to see the ID of your notary, driver's license, etc and compare that to the seal the notary carries on their person.
